I wonder who the other bikini hopefuls are in the background, even though this was in 2007 ,could one of these girls have been one of the pagent contestants? Anyways there is nothing wrong with a little pole dancing contest. It's also a great form of excersizing.

first off let me say that I don't have an issue with the whole pole dancing thing ~ I support single mom's!

what I think the major uproar is about ~ The Miss _____ pageants were founded on the idea that the women competing were of good morals & all around model citizens. The winner was the MOST talented / beautiful / graceful / moral one of the group.

Ya gotta remember these started back in the 50's, it was a different time then & they have tried to keep those standards going.

now that being said, I do think they need to update their criteria / rules / whatever to keep up with the newer generations... the whole pole dancing thing is one example. If more & more teens are doing it for 'exercise' (GOD BLESS 'EM!) then they are going to grow up with that as a normal daily thing & not view it as 'dirty' or 'immoral' as some of us older generations may.

my main issue is that she is Muslim / it goes against her religion to compete in the first place ~ & we should be rounding them all up & using them to plug that oil leak in the gulf anyhow!
