Now it's time to recognize our Idiot Criminal of the Day . . . 21-year-old Christopher Rose of Springfield, Oregon (--in the western part of the state, a few miles east of Eugene).
--On Saturday night, Christopher stole a car and got into a high-speed chase with the police.
--It was dark out, so Christopher decided to try and lose the cops by turning off his headlights . . . and it actually worked. The cops temporarily lost sight of Christopher.
--The only problem was that Christopher couldn't see where he was going, so he accidentally crashed into a tree and KILLED HIMSELF.
--According to a police spokesman, quote, "This was a case where the person was driving above his means. Anytime you have a person trying to escape from the police, whether it's on car or foot, things can happen that are unintended."
