Guys With Beards Are More Trustworthy Than Clean-Shaven Men

Guys . . . the next time you have to make up an elaborate, ill-conceived lie to get away with something stupid, you should grow a BEARD first.

--That's according to a new study, which found that guys with beards are thought to have greater expertise, and are significantly more trustworthy than clean-shaven men.

--The study was reported in something called the "Journal of Marketing Communications".

--It asked test subjects to look at photos of men endorsing products like cell phones and toothpaste. Some of them were clean-shaven, and others had beards. Then the subjects were asked which spokesman they trusted most.

--Bearded men won out every time . . . except for when it came to selling underwear. In that case, clean-shaven men were found to be slightly more effective. It's not totally clear what's up with that
