Women More Likely To Get Diarrhea On Vacation
Men More Likely To Get STD

If you're planning a trip overseas, you're definitely going to want to pay attention to THIS . . .

Researchers at the University of Zurich in Switzerland surveyed 59,000 international travelers to find out how many of them got sick while traveling.

--What they found is that men and women tend to be affected by different illnesses while on vacation.

--For example, women are more likely to come down with colds, urinary tract infections, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal problems. And they're also more likely to have adverse reactions to medications, like those meant to prevent malaria.

--Meanwhile, men are more likely to get fevers, including malaria, rickettsia and dengue fever. And they're also more likely to get mountain or altitude sickness, frostbite and STDs. That's right . . . STDs.

--According to a report by the researchers, quote, "Safe sex advice is a missing component in most pre-travel practices, and our study suggests that male travelers, in particular, would benefit from greater preventive efforts."

--Overall, men are 33% more likely than women to come home from vacation with infected genitals.
