A new study by the London School of Economics reveals that men "lie-up", boosting their earnings and their height to appear more successful while women "lie down", preferring people to think of them as younger and lighter than they really are. Other findings:
- men are more likely than women to increase their number of sexual partners while women are more likely to decrease them.
- men are 10% less likely than women to disclose their infidelity, while women are more likely to tell lies about other people rather than themselves.
