Al Qaeda Once Tried To Blow Up A Plane By Sewing Bombs Inside Live Dogs
You don't need another reason to hate Al Qaeda . . . the whole "they're on a psychotic mission to destroy us" thing is probably reason enough. But maybe this will RENEW your hatred.
According to a report in the French newspaper "Le Figaro", Al Qaeda once tried to use DOGS as SUICIDE BOMBERS.
Two years ago, Al Qaeda operatives cut open a couple stray dogs, sewed explosives inside, put the dogs in kennel carriers, and sent them to the airport in Baghdad to be shipped out on a plane to the U.S.
There's no word on where they were headed, since a few different animal rescue organizations have worked in Iraq over the years to find homes for all the strays. The bombs inside the dogs were supposed to go off mid-flight.
Al Qaeda figured that the dogs wouldn't go through the usual explosives screening process. And they were right . . . they didn't.
But before the dogs were loaded on the plane, U.S. soldiers who were working in the cargo area noticed the dogs weren't moving. The bombs inside of them hadn't exploded . . . but their weight and materials had killed the dogs.
Since then, airports around the world implemented stronger screening processes for pets in case the AL QAEDA A-HOLES try it again.
