We all know couples who seem to hate each other. And it's depressing to be around them, but it could be worse. They could be THESE people . . .
--36 years ago, a British guy named Douglas Wakefield murdered his uncle by strangling him, bashing him with a hammer, and stabbing him with a pitchfork 48 times. He's been in prison ever since.
--And in that time, he's killed another inmate, taken prison guards hostage twice, and undergone a sex-change operation. Now Douglas is a 61-year-old post-op TRANSSEXUAL who goes by the name "Tai."
--After his gender reassignment, "Tai" was transferred to a prison for women where she met the love of her life . . . a 45-year-old lesbian named Thelma Purchase.
--Thelma started a 30-year prison sentence in 2008 after she suffocated a disabled man to get her hands on the $100,000 he'd left her in his will.
--Anyway, "Tai" and Thelma have announced they're going to get married later this year. The service will take place in the prison chapel, and it's going to cost $525, which "Tai" and Thelma will pay for out of their own pockets.
--According to a representative with Britain's Tory political party, quote, "It is incredible this can be allowed. The criminal justice system is becoming a joke
