Gonorrhea Is On Its Way To Becoming A Drug-Resistant "Superbug"

The next time you're out at a bar and looking to hook up with the first girl who says yes, I want you to think about THIS . . .

--Catherine Ison is an STD expert with Britain's Health Protection Agency. She says that unless doctors come up with new ways of treating Gonorrhea, it will become a DRUG-RESISTANT "SUPERBUG." (!!!)

--Right now, Gonorrhea is treated with a single dose of antibiotics. But certain strains of the bacteria have already become resistant. And soon, Gonorrhea bacteria could become completely impervious to the antibiotic treatment.

--Catherine says, quote, "This is a very clever bacteria. If this problem isn't addressed, there is a real possibility that Gonorrhea will become a very difficult infection to treat . . .

--"There are few new drugs available. So using more than one at the same time is probably what should happen in the first instance.

--"We also need to set up good lines of communication between countries so that we can all talk to each other about what's happening in Gonorrhea, and make sure we change treatment strategies when we need to."
