Dan Rather Said President Obama "Couldn't Sell Watermelons"

It's been more than a year since BARACK OBAMA became the first black president, and it seems like people still have no idea how to talk about him without accidentally stepping on the landmine that is UNINTENTIONAL RACISM!!!

--Over the weekend, DAN RATHER was talking about Obama's healthcare bill on the "Chris Matthews Show", and here's some of what he said. Quote, "Part of the undertow in the coming election is going to be President Obama's leadership.

--"And the Republicans will make a case, and a lot of independents will buy this argument: 'Look at the health care bill. It was his number one priority. It took him forever to get it through, and he had to compromise it to death.'

--"And a version of, 'Listen he's a nice person, he's very articulate . . . but he couldn't sell WATERMELONS if you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic.'" (!!!) (Newsbusters)

(--Come on, Dan! Why's it got to be watermelons? Obviously you were talking about an argument some people might use AGAINST Obama. But still . . .)

(--You may as well have said FRIED CHICKEN or GRAPE SODA, because that's basically all we heard anyway. Not cool, my man. Not cool at all.)
