BREAKING "24" NEWS: Kiefer Sutherland Says the "24" Movie Will Be Out Next Year

On "The View", KIEFER SUTHERLAND said the "24" movie will be out NEXT YEAR. And he should know, since he's the star of the thing.

But it sounds like a lot of work has to be done to make that happen. The movie hasn't gone into production yet, and according to "Entertainment Weekly", there's still no director . . . and there may not even be a script.

Earlier this year, Kiefer said Fox rejected the latest script, but that he remained committed to the project. He described the movie as, quote, "the little engine that could." He also said Fox was working with TONY SCOTT on the project.

That should be good news if you're a "24" fan. Tony Scott directed "True Romance", "Enemy of the State", "Top Gun", "Days of Thunder", "Man on Fire", "Spy Game", "Crimson Tide" and most recently "Unstoppable".)

It's unclear if he was ever in line to direct the "24" movie, or if he was just onboard as a producer or consultant. And we also don't know if he's still involved.)

But let's not cast doubt on Kiefer's optimism. Remember, this is the same pirate that took down a Christmas tree with a single flying leap! HERE'S A REMINDER OF WHY KIEFER IS THE BADEST MOTHER F***ER ON THE PLANET!
