A Middle School In Oregon Banned Hugs Because Some Of The Girls Were Using Them To Get The Boys Aroused

You might think of HUGGING as perfectly harmless. And most of the time, it probably is . . . but not always.

--Last month, officials at West Sylvan Middle School in Portland, Oregon, banned students from hugging each other.

--One reason for the ban was that hugging had become so common it was making students late for class. And the so-called "culture of hugging" made certain students feel uncomfortable.

--But the main reason for the ban is that some of the girls were using hugging as a game to see how quickly they could get the boys AROUSED.

--According to a district spokeswoman, quote, "It's the responsibility of the school district, when there are concerns among students, staff or parents, to respond with appropriate rules around conduct. And that's what we did with this case."
