Odds are, if you get busted looking at porno on your work computer, you're getting fired. Which is why I'm SHOCKED that so many people are willing to take that risk.
--According to a look at web traffic by the Nielsen Company last month, about 28% of Americans with a work computer used it to access Internet porno. That's more than one out of four.
--The average person who visited a porno site at work spent 13 minutes on the site . . . and one hour and 38 minutes over the course of a month.
--It gets worse. It's not just regular cubicle jockey types looking at porno at work . . . people being paid with YOUR tax dollars are doing it too.
--The website Gawker.com dug up 16 reports by the Securities and Exchange Commission . . . a.k.a. the people who are supposed to be making sure the economy doesn't get any worse. And the porno addiction at the SEC is out of control.
--In the past year-and-a-half . . . as the economy has fallen apart . . . more than a dozen SEC employees have been busted surfing for porno on their government-issued computers. Some spent as much as 90 minutes a DAY on porno.
--That's bad for two reasons. One, the whole "wasting tax dollars" thing. And two, porno sites are some of the most DANGEROUS websites . . . so the SEC employees could be putting sensitive information at risk.
--And in case you're wondering, some of the most popular porno sites that SEC employees looked at during work hours were SkankWire.com, PokeOfTheDay.com and SexyAvatars.com.
